- If you sign in to go Pro, we keep your name, email and the state of your subscription. That is all.
- Razorpay handles payments. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
Who we are
Lumetype is run by [registered business name], [registered address], India ("we"). You can reach us at [support email] about anything on this page.
What stays on your device
Lumetype's studio does its work inside your browser. Speech recognition, silence and filler trimming, caption layout, translation into English and video export all run on your computer or phone. None of the following is ever sent to us:
- your videos and their audio;
- transcripts, captions, translations and your edits to them;
- your projects, which your browser keeps in its own storage on this device;
- fonts you add from your own files;
- exported videos and subtitle files, which are saved wherever you choose.
Clearing your browser's data for this site deletes your projects. Because we never have a copy, we cannot recover them for you.
Files the studio downloads
To work on your device, the studio downloads some files the first time you need them, and your browser keeps them for next time. Like any website download, the services below see your IP address and which file was requested. They never receive your video, audio or text.
| What | From | When |
|---|---|---|
| Speech recognition models (Whisper) | Hugging Face (huggingface.co) | The first time you transcribe with each accuracy level |
| Google Fonts typefaces | jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) | When you pick a font from the Google Fonts library |
| Translation language packs | Google, through Chrome's built-in translator | When you translate captions in Chrome; Chrome translates on your device |
If you sign in
You only need an account for Pro. You sign in with Google, and Google tells us your name, your email address and an account id. We keep:
- your Google account id, name and email address, and when you first signed in;
- your Razorpay subscription id, its status and the date your paid month ends.
We use these to know which plan you are on, to show your account page and to contact you about your subscription. We do not use them for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell them.
Payments
Pro is paid through Razorpay Software Private Limited. You enter your card, UPI or bank details on Razorpay's own checkout, and Razorpay processes them under its privacy policy. Razorpay tells us whether a payment succeeded and when your subscription renews; it never gives us your payment details.
Cookies and browser storage
-
Session cookie (
lt_session): set only when you sign in, so you stay signed in for up to 30 days. It cannot be read by scripts and is not shared with anyone. - Licence: a small signed note of your plan, kept in your browser so Pro exports keep working when you are offline. It expires after a few days.
- Projects and settings: kept in your browser on this device, as described above.
We do not use advertising, analytics or any other tracking cookies.
Hosting
The website and the small sign-in and billing service are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver pages and protect them from attacks. Account data is stored in Cloudflare's database service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while you have an account. When you ask us to delete it, we cancel any subscription and delete your account within 30 days, except billing records that Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep, which we keep only for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [support email]. These rights come from India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.
Children
Lumetype accounts are for people aged 18 or over. The studio can be used without an account, in which case we receive no personal data at all.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and its date. If a change matters for people with accounts, we will email them before it takes effect.
